Cy Giacomin
A career in composition does not develop overnight, and those of us who need financial help in the beginning stages are not likely to receive it in the form of commission fees. Those who believe in us from the beginning, such as the NSTT, make it possible to develop our technique; as I continue my studies at McGill, I know that I am very happy where I am and it is with help from the Nova Scotia Talent Trust that I am able to secure my footing... in the music industry.
Bursaries
When you apply to the Talent Trust Scholarship Program, and if you meet eligibility requirements, you will be automatically considered for a bursary based on financial need as long as you check the box on your application form. $3000 in bursaries will be given out each year. Students may be chosen to receive up to $600 per year based on financial need. This money is being made available through the Nova Scotia Arts and Culture Partnership Council (NSACPC).
