Whether you’re applying for a scholarship, a grant, or managing your artistic projects, understanding how to create a budget is an important skill. This guide will help you craft a budget specifically for your scholarship application, focusing on expenses for the time period covered by the scholarship.

Why Your Budget Matters

A clear and realistic budget helps:

  • Demonstrate that you’ve carefully considered the costs associated with your study or development opportunity.
  • Show the Scholarship Selection Committee how your scholarship funding will be used.
  • Build your financial planning skills and prepare you for future grant applications.

Do include:

  • only the costs that are directly relevant to your scholarship opportunity and the time period covered by this scholarship period.
  • Tuition, Program Fees
  • Books, Equipment, Project Supplies, Costumes, Dance Attire
  • Travel costs / Accommodataion (if applicable)
  • Other: please make sure you indicate any other expenses in the space provided in the application form.

Do not include:

  • Costs for the full program or degree beyond the scholarship period.
  • Rent, utilities, or other living expenses unrelated to your study opportunity.
  • Personal expenses
